Principia Nass, better known as "Dolly", 91, left this earth on May 2, 2013. She is survived by her devoted daughters Elyse & Leslie; granddaughters Jennifer, Lisa-Marie, & Kristin; great granddaughter, Dakota, & son-in-laws, Kurt & David. She was born on September 11, 1921 in Jersey City N.J. Dolly served her country during WWII, met the love of her life, Richard, married and celebrated 56 years together. She was a working woman ahead of her time, whether balancing family, leading a Girl Scout meeting or running the PTA. Dolly was always full of unconditional love, providing an open heart & shoulder to cry on. Her flair for fashion and artistic ability were evident in her home and wardrobe closet. Residing in many areas of N.J. most of her life, Dolly was an avid reader until the effects of macular degeneration took her sight, and she became an active advocate for the visually impaired. Dolly can no longer dry our tears or help mend our broken hearts but she has shown us how. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, Va. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
