Mary Cox Witt, 85 of Bedford, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Thursday, September 22, 1927 in Roanoke County, a daughter of the late James Ray Cox and Mary Evelyn Graybill Cox. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Ray "Sonny" Cox, Jr. She was a retired employee of Bedford Memorial Hospital and was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church. Surviving is her husband, Ollie Francis Witt; two sons, Frank Ray Witt & wife, L. Michelle, Glen F. Witt & wife, Melissa, all of Bedford; three grandchildren, Ashley B. Witt, Joel D. Witt, Adam D. Witt, all of Bedford. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
