Bevy Morgan Johnson, 97 of Huddleston, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Autumn Care of Altavista. She was born on Wednesday, December 1, 1915 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Rufus J. Morgan and Annie L. Blankenship Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Gilbert Johnson, a sister, Ruth Edna Mitchen and two brothers, Odell J. Morgan & William T. (Billy) Morgan. She was a member of Palestine Baptist Church and a former employee of Singer Furniture Company. Surviving is her niece, Joyce M. Allen & husband, Morgan of Gretna and a nephew, Russell O. Morgan & wife, Edna of Huddleston. The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the loving care provided by the professional and compassionate staff of Autumn Care Nursing Home of Altavista.. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11 AM with Rev. Glenn Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
