Geraldine Goodman Saunders, 73 of Goode, VA passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Sunday, March 14, 1937 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Booker Carson Goodman and Bessie Hortense Laughlin Goodman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Maurice Saunders, two sisters, Florence G. Witt & husband, Macon, Arlene G. Wilson & husband, Boe; a brother, David Goodman, and a great grandaughter, Aikyrra Brown. Surviving are her sons, Wesley Saunders of Lynchburg, Jerry Saunders of Alexandria; a daughter, Gail Saunders of Evington; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a brother, William (Billy) Goodman of Lynchburg, two sisters, Phyllis (Trudy) G. Treadway & husband, Fremon of Altavista; Cathy Goodman Laughlin of Lynchburg and a number of nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Pisgah Presbyerian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends friends Friday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
