Virginia Sanderson Short, 88 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Campbell Rest Home. She was born on Friday, June 19, 1925 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Fred M. Sanderson and Helen Hatcher Sanderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank O. Short and sister Josephine S. Brown. She was a retired secretary for the United States Food & Drug Administration and a member of the Sedalia Baptist Church. Surviving are her brothers, Donald O. Sanderson of Ft. Richie, FL and Francis A. Sanderson of Ramona, CA, 8 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00 am at Sedalia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
