Russell David Jackson, Sr., 65 of Bedford, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, April 1, 1948 in Washington, DC, a son of the late Richard Edward Jackson and Estell Dickerson Jackson. Surviving is his wife, Joan Marie Dixon Jackson; two sons, Russell Jackson, Jr. & wife, Tracy, Ryan Jackson; two step-daughters, Lisa Mitchell & husband, Earl, Lori Holloway, five grandchildren, David Mitchell, Robbie Mitchell, Arthur Carroll, Megan Jackson, Joseph Jackson; three great grandchildren, Ava, Dexter & Shamis Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at the Jackson Family Cemetery on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Mark Flores officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
