Anna L. Nichols, 89 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Virgniia Baptist Hospital. She was born on Saturday, August 2, 1924 in Lawrenceville, NJ, a daughter of the late Harry Lashutka and Olga Zuke Lashutka. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Leroy Nichols, Jr. Anna was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She was a devoted volunteer at Bedford Christian Ministries for many years where she touched many lives. She also contributed many hours to her charitable work, some of which include The Shepherds Table, The Purpose Group and Circle of Friends. Surviving are two brothers, Mickey Lashutka & wife, Betty of WV, Walter Lashutka & wife, Dolores of NJ; a sister, Estelle Bojarsky of FL; a sister-in-law, Barbara Padgett of Roanoke, Mary Wade of Ashboro, NC, Nancy Lashutka of NJ; and a devoted niece, Glenda Carol Morgan & husband, Ricky who cared for Anna when she needed assistance. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 AM at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Bart Weakley officiating. A reception will be held following the service at the church. Interment will be in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
