Chester Waymon Stanley, 70 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 in the middle of the night. He changed from a kind and somewhat jovial man who with a crew could construct anything to a man who could walk or even run on the streets of gold. He was born August 6, 1943 in Beckley, West Virginia, the was the first child of the late C. Waymon Stanley, Jr. and Evelyn Anne Thompson Stanley. He was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Renee Rogers Stanley & children, Robin Renee Baker of Georgia, Richard Blaine Baker of North Carolina, Waymon Lewis Stanley of Bedford, VA; step-daughter, Ida Marie Wilson of Bedford. He is also survived by his siblings, Beth Stanley, Patrick Stanley & Timmy Stanley and one deceased brother, Charles Stanley in 1984. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
