Nellie LaPradd Smith, 95 of Bedford, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Campbell Rest Home. She was born on Thursday, June 20, 1918 in Franklin Co., a daughter of the late Beverly G. LaPradd and Irene Coffman La Pradd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Luck Smith, a grandson, Frankie Smith and a granddaughter, Jackie J. Hagood & three brothers. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a past member of the Women of the Moose. Surviving are her sons, Frank Allen Smith & wife, Sue of Evington, Russell William Smith, Sr. & wife, Pam of Bedford; a daughter, Marilyn Smith Holt of Forest; a brother, Junior S. LaPradd of Moneta; six grandchildren, Mary Lisa Pugh, April Parker, Margaret Davis, Melissa Witt, Russell Smith, Jr., Candace Montgomery, thirteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 3 PM at Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Flores and Rev. Marc Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
