Counis Francis Whorley, 87 of Big Island, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. he was born on Sunday, February 28, 1926 in Bedford County, VA, a son of the late Howsin Whorley and Martha Ellen Hensley Whorley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorie Ann Whorley. Surviving are his nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 12 noon at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
