Virginia Calloway Obituary

Virginia Calloway, 70 of Bedford, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Monday, October 23, 1939 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Paul Calloway and Lorene Irvin Calloway. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Calloway, Jr. She was a retired teacher's aide with Bedford County Public School and was a member of Bold Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are her sisters, Irene Calloway, Beatrice Calloway Poindexter, both of Bedford; three nephews, William L. Poindexter & wife, Janet, Barry L. Calloway & wife, Deborah, Wayne Poindexter & wife, Tracey; three nieces, Norma Jean Crawford, Warnell C. Robinson, Patricia Ann Calloway as well as many beloved great neices & nephews. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Fairmont Cemetery on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Calvin Price officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
