Wilkie Neal Wilson, 76 of Altavista, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Hospice House in Lynchburg. He was born on Tuesday, September 14, 1937 in Campbell County, a son of the late William David Wilson, Sr. and Jane Arnold Mattox Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William David Wilson, Jr. He was a retired employee the Lane Company. Surviving is his sister, Irene Wilson Quarles; nephews, Johnny & Sammy Quarles; niece, Linda Thompson & Wilkies best friend, Wayne Ellis. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Independence Church Cemetery on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11 AM with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 until 10:30 AM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
