Jack Edward Lacy, Jr., 67 of Moneta, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sunday, February 3, 1946 in Bedford County, a son of the late Jack Edward Lacy, Sr. and Frances Anne Blankenship Keen. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Christopher Silas Keen, a sister, Ruth Ann Keen and a brother, Christopher Keen. He was a truck driver with DSI, was a member of Morgans Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam. Surviving is his wife, Cheryl Annette Stephenson Lacy; two sons, Jack Edward Lacy, III & fiance, Jeanette Krantz & her daughter, Dixie Krantz of Bedford, Henderson Lane Lacy & wife, October of Bedford; a step-son, Matthew Alan Smith of Chantilly; three grandchildren, Dana Alexander Lacy, Christopher Lacy & Katlyn Lacy and a brother, John Keen of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at Morgans Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Mallory officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
