Samuel Walter Davis, 68 of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Monday, August 6, 1945 in Bedford County, a son of the late Walter Otey Davis and Susie Crawford Davis. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles H. Davis, Edward B. Davis and four sisters, Ethel D. Stevens, Elsie D. Holsinger, Josephine D. Johnson, Louise Davis. He was a truck driver with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Surviving is his brother, William A. Davis & wife, Irma of Bedford County. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Virginia Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 11 AM. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
