Melinda Gale Parrish Hale, 43 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Monday, March 23, 1970 in Lynchburg, a daughter Laura Jean Craig Brads of Thaxton and the late James Earl Parrish. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at and was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee Hale; a son, Christopher Allen Hale of Bedford; her daughter, Stephanie Ann Hale & son-in-law, Randy Dudley of Huddleston, grandson, Dylan Wayne Dudley of Huddleston, her step-father, Vincent Brads of Thaxton as well as two sisters, three step-brothers and three step-sisters. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the Leukemia Society of America, 2101 Executive Drive, Hampton, VA 23666. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Interment will follow in Holy Land USA Cemetery. Friends may call Monday after 1 PM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
