Janet Woodford Howard, 77 of Goode, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was born on Tuesday, July 14, 1936 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late William Garland Woodford and Roberta Howell Woodford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rucker Howard, Sr. She was a Antique Dealer. Surviving are her sons, Edward R. Howard, Jr. of Bedford; Gregory W. Howard & wife, Ginger of Greenville, SC; a daughter, Amy H. Capps; two sisters, Margaret B. Czkiel of Tampa, FL, Betty W. Herrod of Fargo, FL; a brother, Floyd R. Woodford of TX as well as six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Todd Childers officiating. Interment will follow in Leftwich Cemetery, Huddleston. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
