Obituary of Willie Camden

Willie Austin Camden, 83 of Big Island, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born on Thursday, December 11, 1930 in Rockbridge Co., a daughter of the late John Austin and Ruby Johnson Austin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas Camden as well as two brothers, Fred Austin, Walter Austin and a sister, Eva Rhodes. She was a member of Big Island Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Elaine C. Richardson & husband, Greg of Madison Heights, Susan C. Tolley & husband, Jeff of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Hunter Tolley, Trevor Grishaw, Forrest Tolley, Alexis Grishaw; a brother, Jerry Austin of Staunton; five sisters, Helen Slough of Buena Vista, Gladys Floyd, Jessie Secrest, both of Las Vegas, NE, Anne Bennett of Big Island, Nancy Carter of Pawleys Island, SC; The family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Health & Rehab. as well as Bedford Hospice for the kindness extended to our mother during her illness. Box 343, Big Island, VA 24526. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:0AM at Big Island Baptist Church with Rev. Bryon La Pere officiating. Interment will follow in Big Island Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
