Roger Thomas Fuqua, 64 of Bedford, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Thursday, November 3, 1949 in Bedford County, a son of Lewis Alton Fuqua and Juanita Atkinson McClure, both of Bedford, who survives. He was a Warehouse Manager at CMC Supply. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hensley Fuqua; his son, Paul Edward Fuqua of Bedford; his brother, David D. Fuqua & wife, Darlene of Bedford; his brother-in-law, Dickie Hensley & wife, Wanda of NC, three nephews, Mike, Chris & T.J. Fuqua. The family requests those in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Road, Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Danny Holdren officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
