Harriett White Spangler, 72 of Moneta, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Thursday, May 15, 1941 in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Howard Painter White and Viola Madeline Saunders White. She was also preceded in death by husband, Edgar Kelly Spangler. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah S. Sutherland of Huddleston, Angela Spangler of Moneta, Viola Denise Spangler of Roanoke; a son, W. Dean Spangler of Moneta; a brother, Arthur White of Bristol, TN; a sister, Patricia Kohut of Coppell, TX; sister-in-law, Shirley Dalton of Street, MD as well as six grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the graveside on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Holy Land - Mount of Olives Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
