Jerry Wayne Goode, 58 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, September 7, 1955 in Bedford, a son of Alice Marie Kidd Sydnor of Huddleston who survives and the late Arthur Wilton Goode. Upon graduation from Staunton River High School, Jerry joined the United State Air Force and retired with twenty years of service. Returning from again to Huddleston, he worked with the Bedford County Sheriff's Department & retiring again from Timkin In Altavista. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of forty years, Eve Arthur Goode; his son, Mark Goode & wife, Belinda; his grandchildren, Cassidy Goode, Jeffrey & Bradley Mason & his brother, Curtis Wilton Goode. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Church Cemetery with a reception to follow at the church. Friends may call Wednesday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
