Gaynelle Arthur Morris, 78 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Carriage Hill Retirement Home. She was born on Wednesday, July 17, 1935 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Walter H. Arthur and Winnifre Crouch Arthur. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Ross Morris. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Debra M. Crouch & husband, David of Thaxton; three sons, Gerald Morris & wife, Francie, Wayne Morris & wife, Wanda of Bedford, Danny Ray Morris & wife, Allie of Ledyard, CT; five grandchildren, Mary Morris, Dustin Crouch, Kelsey Morris, Jenna Morris, Hannah Morris; three step-grandsons; and two sisters, Mildred Gardner of Bedford, Arlene Ferguson of Huddleston, The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider The Gideons International, Bedford County Camp, P. O. Box 791, Bedford, VA 24253 or Trinity Baptist Church, 947 Lyle Street, Bedford, VA 24523 . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Vernon Delong officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park . Friends may call Monday after 1 PM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
