Jesse James Blankenship, Jr., 49 of Huddleston, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014. He was born on Thursday, October 15, 1964 in Bedford County, a son of Jesse James Blankenship. Jr. and Virginia Alice Hodges Blankenship of Huddleston who survive. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Durwin. He was an employee of Kannett Construction and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. In addition to his father & mother, he is survived by two sons, Hunter Gregory Blankenship & wife, Chelsea of Charleston, SC; Cody Thomas Blankenship, Roanoke; a daughter, Kali Nichole Blankenship, Huddleston; a sister, Toni Robertson & husband, Michael of Huddleston as well as numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 8:00 pm at Palestine Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin King officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at 6 and until the time of the service at Palestine Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
