Jo Ann Dalton Jennings, 58, of Altavista, passed away March 8, 2014. Jo Ann was born January 30, 1956. She was the oldest daughter of Madeline Slusser and the late Burton Dalton. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dennis Jennings; two daughters, Sandy Davis and Crystal Waller; two sisters, Eva Harris and Linda Carson; three grandchildren, Kirsti and Eleanor Vaughan and Madeline Hubbard; two great grandchildren, Logan and Matthew Beverly; her stepfather, Russell Slusser; and many other relatives that were special to her. Jo Ann always had a special place in her heart for her dogs. She had many favorites through the years, including Boogie, Cocoa, Sugar, and Hershey. She was also an avid NASCAR fan and she loved the beach. Those wishing to make memorials are asked to consider the Jo Ann D. Jennings Memorial Fund, c/o Updike Funeral Home, P. O. Box 926, Bedford, VA 24523. A Graveside Service will be held March 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery at 3096 Mulberry Road, Nathalie, Va. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
