Edward Young "Ed" Lovelace III, 75 of Bedford, VA passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Oakwood Manor Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on Sunday, November 13, 1938 in Richmond, a son of the late Mary Burnett Lovelace & Edward Young Lovelace, Jr. of Bedford who survives. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond & Medical College of Virginia Dentistry School. He practiced dentistry for forty-ones years. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, the Blue Ridge Chitterling Club, the Gobbler Club and the Elks Club. He was an avid University of Richmond Spiders supporter and a loyal Washington Redskins fan, even attending their 1992 Super Bowl victory. In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Edward Y. "Chip" Lovelace, IV of Richmond. The family wishes to thank Sonya Forte, Eunice & Jay Barnes for their care during his illness. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider St. Johns Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, 314 North Bridge Street, Bedford, VA 24523. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Johns Episcopal Church with Rev. Wilson Brown officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
