Sue Harmon, 96, formerly of South Salem, daughter of the late John and Mary Mazza passed away peacefully at her home in Huddleston, Virginia on April 12, 2014. Se was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Harmon; her son, A. Stephen Plevka, her brothers, John Mazza and Carmine Mazza and her sister, Rosemarie Muskus. She is survived by her son, John Plevka (Mary) of Venice, FL; daughters, Mary Anne Anderson of Pawling, NY and Donna Sue Harmon of Huddleston; Mrs. Stephen Plevka of Lake Wylie, SC; very special niece, Sue Kauer of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Wayne Anderson of Pawling, NY, Patrick Anderson of Wingdale, NY, Steve Plevka (Sarah) of Matthews, NC, Amy Dakin (Keith) of Pawling, NY, Dean Plevka of South Hill, SC, Eden Banner (Ken) of Greensboro, NC, and Jessica Plevka of Gardner, MA; ten great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Neil Mazza (Pauline), Joseph Mazza, Paul Mazza and Constance Bobletz (Jim). She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She mailed thousands of birthday cards over the years, and coordinated the prayer vine and the phone tree. She also joined her friends at Staunton Baptist Church for bible study, ladies monthly can trips and many social events. A Mass of Resurrections will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2 PM at Resurrection Catholic Church, 15351 Moneta Road, Moneta, VA with Father Salvador Anonuevo presiding. The Rite of Commital will be celebrated immediately following in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
