Lizzie Caldwell Bowyer, 90 of Bedford, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Friday, September 28, 1923 in Warm Springs, a daughter of the late Daniel William Caldwell and Fannie Ellen Dudley. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Robert Bowyer & Charles Richard Bowyer as well as five brothers & one sister. She was a retired employee of Belding Corticelli and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her sons, John Wayne Bowyer & wife, Jeanett of Madison Heights, Thomas Harry "Tommy" Bowyer & wife, Patsy, Charles Richard Bowyer, Jr., David Clarence Bowyer all of Bedford; daughters, Margaret Ellen Bowyer of Bedford, Barbara Allen Smith of Forest, May Drake & husband, John of Gladys, Ann Thackery & husband, Maxx of AZ, Elizabeth Bowyer Dooley & husband, Eric of Bedford, as well as daughters, Effie & Mary; seventeen grandchildren & seventeen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Tim Dooley officiating. Interment will follow in the Nicopolis United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday after 2 PM and the family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
