Doris Ruff Dooley, 70 of Bedford, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Tuesday, February 29, 1944 in Bedford Co., a daughter of the late Otis Ruff and Lillie Orange Ruff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Wallace Dooley and her brother, Boyce Ruff. She was a retired employee of Rubatex Corporation having worked in Extrusion. Surviving is her son, Greg S. Dooley & wife, Susan of Bedford; three sisters, Myrtle Phillips, Frances Stevens, & husband, Harry all of Thaxton, Margaret Overstreet of Bedford as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Larry Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 7 Pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
