Ella Lucille Jacobs, 97 of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Avante at Lynchburg. She was born on Sunday, January 19, 1913 in Bedford Co., a daughter of the late Chester Green Jacobs and Millie Susan Barker Jacobs. She are also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Surviving is her son, Joseph Norman Weitz & wife, Sue of Lancaster, CA; daughter, Brenda Carol Jacobs of Rustburg, two grandsons, Thomas Wayne St. John, Jr. & wife, Betty Joe; Joey Weitz & wife, Jacinta; a granddaughter, Brianna Weitz; two great-granddaughters, Katelyn Marie & Kelsey Joe St. John; a sister, Jane Robertson of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Vernon DeLong officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
