Eleanor Overstreet Dooley, 75 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, July 16, 1938 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Amos Overstreet and Gola Chesterfield Dooley Overstreet. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters. She was a retired employee of Bedford Weaving Mill and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Surviving are her sons, Terry W. Dooley, Sr., Douglas W. Dooley, Jr., both of Bedford; two daughters, Carol A. Crochiere & husband, Edward, Cynthia G. Anderson & husband, Avery all of Bedford; three brothers, James Overstreet & wife, Mildred, Edward Overstreet & wife, Annie, all of Thaxton, William P. Overstreet, Sr. & wife, Faye of Bedford; a sister, Eunice Barden of Richmond; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Amos Ruff, Sr. and Raymond Ruff officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Land - Mount of Olives Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
