Nancy Preas Rutherford, 80 of Evington, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Autumn Care of Altavista. She was born on Thursday, August 31, 1933 in Campbell Co., VA, a daughter of the late Eugene Garland Preas and Addie Mason Preas. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Pore and a step-son, Roy Claude McGann III. She attended the First Baptist Church of Evington. Surviving is her husband, Earl William Rutherford; a daughter, Donna Jean Tucker & husband, Ricky of Evington; two grandchildren, Ricky W. Tucker, Jr. & Tonya Lynn Brown, both of Evington; two brothers, Joseph (Jay Hugh) Preas & wife, Brenda & Carlton Preas all of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at the First Baptist Church of Evington on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Place officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
