Benjamin Rucker Jenkins, 73 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Oakwood Manor Health & Rehab. He was born January 9, 1941 in Bedford County, a son of the late Ernest B. Jenkins and Martha Gertrude Krantz Jenkins. He was a retired employee of Coleman Adams Construction. He is survived by his wife, Faye Toms Jenkins; three sons, Billy Rucker Jenkins & wife, Michelle, Travis Scott Jenkins & wife, Jenny, all of Bedford; Richard Wayne Jenkins & wife, Angie Maria of Big Island; eight grandchildren, Denny Payne, Lori Miller, Melissa Tolley, Ashley Jenkins, Ben Jenkins, Layla Jenkins, Trey Jenkins, Wyatt Jenkins as well as three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted from the graveside at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 3 PM with Rev. Jimmy Critchley officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 until 2:30 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
