Dorothy Armand Dooley Maxey went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2014. She was born in Bedford County on February 7, 1920, a daughter of the late Fred O. Dooley and Minnie Wills Dooley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber R. Maxey, several sisters and a brother. She is survived by one of her sisters, Edith Dooley Turpin, a brother-in-law, William H. Turpin, several nephews, a niece, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. She spent the last 6 years of her life in the wonderful care of the loving staff at the Bedford County Nursing Home who treated her as a member of their own family. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 15th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, and a graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Parr officiating. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
