Peggy Hale Williams, 82 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Liberty Ridge. She was born on Thursday, December 10, 1931 in Bedford County, VA, a daughter of the late Curtis Carlton Hale and Augusta Johnson Hale. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki W. Musick & 2 brothers, Max J. Hale & Arnold Hale. She was a retired employee of Leggett's Department Store in Bedford, was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church & the Moneta Senior Citizens. Surviving is her husband of sixty-four years, Harold W. Williams; her son, Dale H. Williams & wife, Penny of Bedford; son-in-law, Larry Musick of Phoenix, AZ as well as five grandchildren, Cody Williams, Scott Martin, Chad Martin, Nicholas Dodson & Jamie Dodson & five great grandchildren. The family request those wishing to make memorials to consider Wilson United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Steve Turner, Rev. Jack Davis & Rev. Erick Landau officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Friday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
