H.L. was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed. He was my father-in-law for fifteen years. He was a wonderful grandfather to my children and stepchildren. My sons have cherished memories of riding in Granddaddy's school bus and his "red monster truck." In the first four years after Doris passed away, (until he was no longer able,) he didn't miss a birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas or Pinewood Derby race. He was everything a Granddaddy should be and then some, even though we weren't biologically his. His stories were some of the best we'd ever heard, and his laugh had no equal. Our lives are richer because of having had "Granddaddy H" as a part of them.
