Deborah K. "Sissy" Ashby, 52 of Rustburg grew her wings on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at her sister's home in Huddleston and went to be with the Lord. She taughte us to live life in the moment with those we love the most. She was born on Tuesday, January 9, 1962 in Grundy, a daughter of the late Vernon R. Church and Della Vance Church. Surviving is her son, Joshua T. Ashby, her sisters, Vickie C. Guffey & husband, Thomas, Dorothy F. Church; brothers, Danny R. Church, Donald J. Church; nephew, Tristan G. Guffey; nieces, Lataska K. Church, Tiffany N. Church as well as many other family and friends. We encourage all who knew Deborah "Sissy" to celebrate her life and the lives she touched at the service of remembrance on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Sue Keen & Rev. William Westgate officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
