Monte D. Wright, 84 of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Bedford County Nursing Home. He was born on Tuesday, September 9, 1930 in Comanche, TX, a son of the late Marvin Troy Wright and Jo Idell Pannell Wright. He was also preceded in death by wife, Joyce Irene Chancellor Wright. He was veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Surviving are his daughters, Julie Lockhart & husband, Scott of Auburn, NY, Darcy Ann Wright of Skaneateles, NY; his sons, Robin Edward Wright of Bedford, Bruce Alan Wright as well as three grandchildren. Mr. Wright donated his body to the Virginia State Anatomical Program. A memorial service will be private and held at the family's convenience. Memorial gifts for Mr. Wright may be sent to Centra Hospice, 2097 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
