Thomas Coleman Musgrove, Sr., 99 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on August 31, 1915 in Body Camp, a son of the late Thomas Goggin Musgrove and Beulah Nichols Musgrove. He was preceded in death by wife, Hazel Witt Musgrove, a sister, Eula Virginia Johnson and a brother, Goggin Nichols "Nick" Musgrove. He was retired as Postmaster of Bedford, was a member of Bedford Baptist Church, B.P.O.E Elks Lodge, American Legion, V.F.W. & proudly served in the U. S. Navy in World War II. Surviving is his son, Thomas Coleman Musgrove, Jr. & wife, Suellen of Kirkland, WA; his daughter, Marie M. Tolbert of Bedford; two granddaughters, Jana & Rebecca Musgrove as well as five great grandchildren. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider Bedford Baptist Church, 1516 Oakwood Street, Bedford, VA 24523 or the National D-Day Memorial, P. O. Box 77, Bedford, VA 24523. A memorial service will be held at Bedford Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Dr. David Henderson officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
