Obituary of Adeline Howard Harvey

Sarah Adeline Howard Harvey, 85 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. She was born on Sunday, October 13, 1929 in Montgomery Co., a daughter of the late Reuben L. Howard and Estelle Martin Howard. Adeline was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church. She was a retired office manager of Leggett/Belk. Adeline loved playing golf, bridge and her weekly bingo games. She was loved by all of her friends and family. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rangeley, William and Rudolph Howard and her sister, Mary (Margie) Webb. She is survived by her sisters, Wavie Lindsay of Richmond; Lily Mae Hines of Salt Lake City, UT; her brother, Hiram Jefferson Howard (Kay) of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Nathaniel B. "Nat" Harvey; her son, Nathaniel B. "Nat" Harvey III & wife, Cheryl of Appleton, WI; her daughter, Debbie H. Gardner & husband, Roger of Bedford. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert Harvey, Megan Clark (Daniel), David Harvey (Billie Ann), Michelle Workman (Ronnie), Matthew Harvey (Emma) along with many great grandchildren. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford Presbyterian Church, 105 West Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Bedford Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Salley & Rev. Frank Avery officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Monday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
