Viola Stanley Thomas, 91 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Friday, February 15, 1924 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Ballard Henry Stanley and Annie May Toms Stanley . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Earl Thomas and a son, Charles Abbott. She was a retired employee of Hampton Looms. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce T. Dankson of Bedford, 3 grandchildren, Tim, Mike, & Chris Dankson and 10 Great-Grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at Nicopolis United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Dankson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 24, 2015, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
