Obituary of Marie Zimmerman Witt

Marie Zimmerman Witt, 89 of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at her residence. She was born on Wednesday, April 7, 1926 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Howard Zimmerman and Mary Louise Martin Zimmerman. She was also preceded in death by husband, Charles Grayson Witt & a son, Howard Grayson Witt, Sr. She was a lifelong member of Bedford Presbyterian Church. In her youth, Marie enjoyed training horses, which was her passion, often talking about her experiences with her family & friends. She is survived by her sons, Michael D. Witt & wife, Loni of Lynchburg, Mark D. Witt & partner Brad Draper of Bassett; grandchildren, Howard Grayson Witt, Jr., Tony Witt & wife, Dana as well as great grandchildren, Mason Thomas & Alexandria Grayson Witt. The family gives thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers that took care of Marie for the past two years, Carol, Kathy, Jessica, Audrey & Rhonda. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at the graveside at Virginia Memorial Park with Rev. John Salley officiating. There will be no visitation.
