Obituary of Tamara Leigh Coats Baldwin

Tamara Leigh Coats Baldwin, 53 of Glade Hill, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. She was born on Tuesday, May 2, 1961 in Helena, Arkansas, a daughter of the late James Franklin Coats and Mary Marzee Chancey Coats. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Bill Chancey. Tamara was an accomplished mental health nurse practitioner having been given a special gift from God for understanding medicine. She was also a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Rev. O. Monroe Baldwin; her daughters, Kristen A. Green & husband, Adam of Lynchburg, Jessica Lauren Baldwin of Glade Hill; her son, Dylan Taylor Baldwin of Glade Hill; her granddaughter, Truelee Marzee Green; her brother, Andy Coats & wife, Evelyn of Indian Bay, AR and her sister, Janice Spakes & husband, Larry of Peoria, IL. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Diamond Hill Baptist Church, 3541 Horseshoe Bend Road, Moneta, VA 24121. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
