Mattie Witt King, 90 of Bedford, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Sunday, September 21, 1924 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Jerry Witt and Ruby Bell Stevens Witt. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley King Bradley.
She was retired as a nurse at the Elks National Home and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Donald King & wife, Lynda of Elberton, GA, Ronnie King & wife, Donna of Bedford, William King & wife, Juanita of Bedford; granddaughters, Wendy King Conner, Sara King, Heather King & grandsons, Brandon Bradley, Eric Bradley, Ronnie King, Ryan King.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. William Westgate officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
