Melanie Gibson, 39 of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on Friday, May 28, 1976 in Bedford, a daughter of Judy Presley Gibson and the late Tommy Jay Gibson. She was a CNA/Med Tech for most of her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Johnathan Cody Gibson, Joseph Allen Moore, Jr. and Jaythan Wyatt Gibson; a Brother, Tommy Jay Gibson, Jr. and companion, Jessica Redman; a Sister, Amanda Lynn Gibson; Nieces, Kayla, Karlie, Kasey and Karissa Gibson and a Nephew, Kyler Tyree; a special cousin, James "Jimmy" Hogan and numerous loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins; also a loving companion of 20 years, Joseph Allen Moore, Sr. The family would also like to thank Shannon Dooley for her care and assistance during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, with Pastor Joe Elmore officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
