Obituary of Diane Ruth Overstreet

Diane Ruth Overstreet, 64, born in Bedford County on Tuesday, December 19th, 1950 passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10th. She was surrounded by family at Bedford Memorial Hospital and was greeted with open arms in heaven by her parents, Rudolph Overstreet and Ruth Ashwell Overstreet, as well as many other family members who preceded her in death. Diane is survived by her loving sister, Shelby Mitchell and her husband, Danny, 3 nieces, Kelly Cederberg and her husband, Troy, Kerry Dolph and her husband, Shawn, and Deena Mustard and her husband, Neal; three great nephews, Gabriel, Riley, and Hayden Mustard, and many loving cousins, aunts and an uncle. Diane loved and enjoyed her family of caregivers at Bedford County Nursing Home. “Big Ole Hugs” to all for the amazing care, love, and joy that they gave to her. Heartfelt thanks to Village Family Physicians’ Dr. Luth and Dr. Humphries for their loving care for Diane. A joyous girl forever, she looked forward to the changing of the seasons each year and the holidays they brought. She loved listening to gospel music, playing bingo, and eating cheeseburgers. Diane was a child at heart and will be deeply missed. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 14th at 11:00 at Patmos United Methodist Church Cemetery in Huddleston, Virginia. The family will receive friends following the ceremony at the home of Danny and Shelby Mitchell at 3321 Trading Post Road in Huddleston, Virginia.
