Obituary of Joan Overstreet Bradley

Joan Overstreet Bradley, 60 of Vinton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. She was born on Monday, November 8, 1954 in Bedford, a daughter of Shirley Puckett Overstreet of Bedford who survives and the late Elmer Earl Overstreet. Joan was a graduate of Liberty High School and worked for nearly 40 years in the Administrative/Clerical field. She devoted her life to being a selflessly loving wife, mother & granny. In addition to her mother, Joan is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Howard "Eddy" Bradley; her daughter, Heather Bradley Sellers & husband, Joseph; her grandchildren, Lucas, Lucy & Lochlan as well as her brothers, Richard Overstreet & wife, Karen, David Overstreet & wife, Deanna and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of Lewis Gale Medical Center and the Infusion Center for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flower, those wishing to make memorials are asked to consider the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday after 1 PM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
