Helene Goggin Cox, 86 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Saturday, December 22, 1928 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Stanley Bryant Goggin and Louise Allen Forbes Goggin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Cox. She was a member of Quaker Baptist Church and is survived by her son, Jeffrey Albert Cox & wife, Dawn of Bedford; her granddaughter, Katelyn Cox of Bath County; her grandson, Justin Albert Cox of Bedford. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Moneta Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 497, Moneta, VA 24121. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday after 11 AM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
