Doris Tuck Shelton, 82 of Huddleston passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Berkshire Nursing Home. She was born on Monday, August 28, 1933 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Albert Tuck and Maggie Arnold Neal Tuck. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Aaron Shelton, a daughter, Marian Cocke, as well as three brothers & two sisters. She was a retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Mentow Baptist Church. Doris is survived by her sons, Bobby Aaron Shelton & wife, Norma of Vinton, Kim Steven Shelton & wife, Patty of Hardy; her brothers, Calvin Tuck of Altavista, Fred Tuck of Bedford, Lawson Tuck of Gretna; her sisters, Lois Kendrick of Bedford, Lula Smallwood of Baltimore, MD, Naomi Howell of Huddleston; her son-in-law, Barry Cocke; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Mentow Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 10 am and until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
