Charles Edward Broadwater, 92 of Bedford, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on Wednesday, October 17, 1923 in Mannington, WV, a son of the late Russell L. Broadwater and Nettie Mae Hawkinberry Broadwater. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Lee King Broadwater and two brothers, Carl P Broadwater, Frank A. Broadwater
He was a maintenance mechanic and was a member of Moose Lodge # 1344, Mannington, WV and the American Legion Post # 40 as well as Union Valley Baptist Church, Mannington, WV. He was also a U. S. Air Force veteran having served in World War II & the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his son, Michael Allen Broadwater of Bedford; his brothers, Ray B. Broadwater of Clay City, IL, Russell L. Broadwater of Saint Elmo, IL.
At Mr. Broadwaters' request, he was cremated and no services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
