Mary Foster Martin, 90 of Bedford, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Carriage Hill Retirement Home. She was born on Sunday, September 13, 1925 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Eugene Earl Foster and Lillian Mae Quarles Foster. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Martin and her son-in-law, John McCallum. She was a member of Bedford Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Danny Martin & wife, Debby of Bedford; her daughter, Linda McCallum of Vinton; her grandchildren, Scott Martin & wife, Christy, Chad Martin, all of Bedford; Ashley McCallum, Leeanna McCallum, both of Roanoke; Darryl McCallum & wife, Kristie of Blacksburg; Adrian Martin of Hopkins, SC; and her great-grandchildren, Savannah Martin, Montana Martin, Daniel Martin, Grayson McCallum, Emery McCallum.
The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Amedisys Hospice, 5221 Valley Park Drive, Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 24019.
DUE TO ANTICIPATED SNOWY WEATHER, Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Dr. David Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at 1 PM and until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
