James Robert Elliott, 76 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was born on Thursday, May 18, 1939 in Yancey County, North Carolina, a son of the late Homer Lee Elliott and Ida Elizabeth Gardner Elliott.
He was retired from R. R. Donnelly.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Martin Elliott; his sons, Tommy Ray Elliott of Rustburg, Robert Lee Elliott, Danny Wayne Elliott, both of Bedford; his sister, Rachel Hancock of Daleville; his brothers, Charles Elliott of Eagle Rock, Richard Elliott of Troutville, Billy Elliott of Blue Ridge.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 2 until 4 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
